James Garbett – Area Marketing and Communications Lead.
I joined as a Senior Marketing Executive focussing on delivering high-quality multi-channel campaigns and content that showcased the Commission’s commitment to ensuring that those who died in the world wars are never forgotten.
Since then, I have progressed to the position of Area Marketing Manager, where I have the privilege of overseeing the marketing and communications strategy for some of CWGC’s international operations. During my time here, I’ve had the privilege of representing the CWGC at events such as the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Arnhem and at the opening of our new cemetery extension in Loos, France.
My role means I get to work with CWGC teams around the world, collaborating with the teams to bring our global efforts to life and ensuring that our messaging reflects the cultural and historical significance of each area. It’s a challenging and rewarding position that allows me to contribute to the Commission’s mission of honouring the sacrifices of the past and keeping their stories alive for future generations.

Vin Pooni – Non commemoration programme manager
As the Non-Commemoration Programme Manager, I oversee the successful delivery of the programme by collaborating closely with project teams, managing change effectively, and implementing robust controls, governance frameworks, and standards.
The Non-Commemoration Programme is dedicated to ensuring that all individuals who served in and alongside the Commonwealth's armed forces during the World Wars are equally honoured and remembered.
I take great pride in coming to work each day, knowing that my efforts contribute to such a meaningful cause. It is deeply fulfilling to work alongside a team of committed and passionate individuals, all united by a shared mission to honour and remember those who served.

Adam Blunt – Senior Technical Training Consultant
Hello! I’ve been part of the Commission for over four years, and my role focuses on the development of our skilled workforce on a global scale. Working for this incredible organisation is both fulfilling and inspiring. It allows me to collaborate with talented individuals from around the world, across every climate zone, to support their growth and development.
The work we do is truly rewarding—helping people acquire new skills and knowledge while seeing the positive impact of those efforts in our global operations. One of the highlights of my career has been developing and launching the CWGC Diploma in Horticulture, a bespoke programme designed to enhance the skills of our gardeners. It’s been a privilege to see the programme thrive, supporting professional development in Europe and Kenya.
I value the trust and autonomy I have in my role, which empowers me to make meaningful contributions and take ownership of my projects. This, coupled with the opportunities for personal growth and learning, makes working at the Commission an extraordinary experience
